Light Tackle Fishing
At Salt Tale Chaters, we ensure all aboard our boat have the most incredible time, no matter their skill level. Captain Brandon takes a very hands-on approach to aid and assist everyone. Captain Brandon blends his experiences and teaching techniques to get everyone involved, excited and catching fish!
Even if you are experienced with light tackle fishing, you’re sure to pick up some new tips and tricks!
Fishing Trip FAQs
What should I expect?
Hands-on fishing: rod in hand, lots of casting and reeling. Learning various techniques based on the target fish species.
Is gratuity included?
Prices do not include Gratuity. Gratuity is not expected nor required but is greatly appreciated!
Is there a deposit?
A deposit of $100 is required to book any trip.
What is the cancelation policy?
Things happen that we can not control. Deposits can be refunded or credited towards a future trip. Deposits are non-refundable within 14 days of your trip date. The Captain reserves the right to cancel a trip. If the Captain cancels the trip, your deposit will be refunded or credited towards a future trip.
What is the weather policy?
The Captain will make the final call on the weather. Heavy winds and/or storms are typical reasons for a trip to be canceled or postponed. We typically fish in light rain, so if rain is in the forecast bring appropriate gear.
What is provided?

- A cooler with ice & water
- The boat

What should I bring?
- Snacks/Drinks
- Alcohol is ok
- Bottled water provided by Captain
- Sunscreen
- Hats
- Towel
- Clothing appropriate for the conditions
- Shoes with no-marking soles
The Fishing Trips
Youth/Family Trip
2.5Hr. - $300
up to 6 anglers, no more than 2 adults, must have at least 1 Kid (under 12)
This trip is focused on the family with younger kids in mind. Using basic techniques and utilizing bait to give young kids a taste of fishing without over doing it. (something along those lines, essentially with the mindset that young kids cant last hours on the water.)
Full Day Fishing Trip
8 hr. -
$900
1-4 Anglers ($50 Extra Angler Charge)
8 Hours of hands-on, light tackle or fly fishing. This trip gives the anglers a bit more time on the water and covers a larger area than the 5 hr. trip.
Half Day Fishing Trip
5 hr. - $600
1-4 anglers ($50 Extra Angler Charge)
5 Hours of hands-on, light tackle or fly fishing. This trip gives anglers of all experience levels plenty of time to fish without getting burned out.
Bull Redfish/Cobia Trip
8 hr. - $900
1-4 Anglers ($50 Extra Angler Charge) (Mid-July - Sept.)
A full day on the water hunting for giant redfish and cobia. Typically, we will fish for other species but the main focus is one the big ones!
Walk-on Trips
Walk-On trips are available from time to time and are posted on our Facebook and IG pages. We also offer a text list. To be added to that list please provide your name, email and phone number in the “Contact Us” section with a note that you want to be added to the “Walk-On List”.
The Captain will send out a text weekly and/or monthly with upcoming walk-on opportunities. Spots will be first come/first serve.
